Installation is where a post-tensioned slab stops being a drawing and becomes a structure. Every assumption the designer made about tendon height, spacing and anchor position now has to survive a live site, a rebar crew working to its own sequence, and a pour date that is not going to move.

We provide post tension installation services across the UAE, covering tendon layout and fixing, anchor installation, strand threading, and the coordination with reinforcement works that determines whether the pour goes smoothly or turns into a half-day argument. Our base is Ajman, where most of our completed work sits, and our DED Ajman licence covers projects in every emirate. Where Does Premium Post Tension's Installation Experience Come From?

Most of our completed installation work sits in two areas of Ajman, and the concentration is useful rather than limiting. Repeat work in the same districts means our crews have installed into the same soil conditions, the same consultant expectations and the same municipality sign-off process enough times that very little about them is a surprise.

In Al Yasmeen, in the Eastern Sector, we installed post-tensioning on two adjacent residential plots, each a G+M+4+R building. In Al Jurf, in the Northern Sector, we installed on a G+4+R residential building and separately on an 11-level structure built as G+2P+8T+R, including two parking floors. Different building types, different tendon layouts, same crews.

Two residential buildings, Al Yasmeen

Roughly 4,200 and 4,300 square metres of post-tensioned slab respectively, both G+M+4+R. The second building followed the first closely enough that the installation sequence carried straight across, which is the practical benefit of the same team handling consecutive plots.

An 11-level structure with parking, Al Jurf

About 9,340 square metres, built as G+2P+8T+R. The two parking floors changed the installation picture considerably. Parking levels carry different loads and want a different column grid than the residential floors above them, so the tendon layout changes between levels rather than repeating floor to floor. Installation crews have to be reading the right drawing for the right slab, every time.

A G+4+R residential building, Al Jurf

Roughly 3,570 square metres, a more conventional layout, and a useful counterpoint to the tower on the same district.

220mm to 280mm slabs, 55 to 80 kg/m³

Across all four buildings the installed slabs ran between 220mm and 280mm thick, with steel ratios between 55 and 80 kg per cubic metre. That spread is normal. It reflects genuinely different spans and loads, not inconsistency.

What Does Correct Post-Tension Installation Actually Require?

Tendon profile accuracy

A post-tensioning tendon is not a straight bar. It follows a designed curve through the slab depth, high over the supports and low at mid-span, because that profile is what allows the tendon to lift load off the slab once stressed. If the tendon sits at the wrong height, the slab does not behave the way the design predicted. Chair heights and fixing intervals are therefore not site-discretion items, and we install them as specified.

Anchor installation and edge detail

Anchors transfer the entire tendon force into the concrete at the slab edge, which makes the anchorage zone one of the most heavily stressed regions in the whole structure. Anchors need correct alignment, correct bursting reinforcement behind them, and formwork that will not shift them during the pour.

Strand threading and duct integrity

Strands are threaded through ducts that must stay continuous and undamaged. A duct crushed by foot traffic or punctured by a vibrator becomes a grouting problem later, and a grouting problem eventually becomes a corrosion problem.

Coordination with reinforcement

Tendons and rebar occupy the same slab depth and compete for the same space. When the two trades sequence their work together, the pour proceeds. When they do not, someone is cutting or relocating steel on the day of the pour, with the concrete already ordered.

Our Installation Process: What Does a PT Install Look Like on Site?

Eight steps, each one closed out before the deck is ready for concrete.

Step 01

Drawing review and site walk

Before any material arrives, we check the approved shop drawings against the actual slab, formwork and reinforcement arrangement. Discrepancies found here cost minutes. The same discrepancies found on pour day cost a day.

Step 02

Material check on delivery

Strands, anchors, wedges, ducts, chairs and couplers are checked against the schedule for the specific slab, not the project in general.

Step 03

Setting out and duct placement

Tendon positions are marked out on the deck, ducts laid to the designed profile, and chairs set at the specified intervals to hold that profile under load.

Step 04

Anchor installation

Anchors are fixed at the slab edges with their bursting reinforcement, aligned to the tendon direction and secured against movement during pouring.

Step 05

Strand threading

Strands are threaded through the ducts and left at the correct extension beyond the anchor for the stressing jack to grip.

Step 06

Coordination and joint inspection with reinforcement

The rebar and PT layouts are walked together before closing the deck, so conflicts are resolved before concrete is on order.

Step 07

Pre-pour inspection and sign-off

Profile heights, anchor positions, duct continuity and strand condition are all checked and recorded, then presented for consultant inspection.

Step 08

Protection during the pour

Someone from our crew stays on the deck during pouring, because a displaced chair or a damaged duct at that moment is recoverable and, once the concrete sets, is not.
