We are based in Ajman and our DED Ajman trade licence permits work throughout the UAE. Fujairah sits on the other side of the country from us, across the mountains, and we plan mobilisation accordingly rather than pretending the distance is not there.

Local market context
Often it does not, and we would rather say that at the top of the page than three pages into a quotation.
Fujairah builds differently from the western emirates. Development along the east coast, through Dibba Al-Fujairah and its surrounding areas, and within Fujairah city around districts such as Al Faseel, is predominantly villas and low-rise residential rather than towers. On a conventional two-storey villa with ordinary room spans and columns where you would expect them, conventional reinforced concrete is usually simpler, cheaper and entirely adequate. Recommending post-tensioning there would be selling a solution to a problem the building does not have.
There are, however, specific situations in low-rise construction where post-tensioning genuinely earns its place, and they come up more often in modern villa design than people expect. So the honest answer is that Fujairah's building stock does not make post-tensioning routine here, but a growing share of individual villa designs contain at least one element where it is clearly the right call.
A majlis or open-plan living area designed without intermediate columns can easily reach spans a conventional slab handles only by becoming thick, heavy and expensive. Post-tensioning delivers those spans at a fraction of the depth.
A villa with parking beneath living space has the same column-grid conflict as a tower above a car park, in miniature. Cars want clear width, rooms above want walls where they want walls.
Large cantilevered terraces and overhangs are a common feature of contemporary villa architecture in this region, and cantilevers are a natural application for post-tensioning.
Where crack control matters for waterproofing, keeping concrete in compression is a genuine functional advantage rather than just a structural one.

Local construction considerations
Five factors that come from villa-scale work a mountain range away from our base.
A villa slab is a single pour with a handful of tendons rather than a repeating floor plate with dozens. Every tendon carries a larger proportion of the total load, which means an error on one matters proportionally more, not less.
Fujairah is across the country from our base. Bringing a stressing crew and equipment there for a single villa slab is a genuine cost, and it is more efficient when scheduled alongside other work in the area or planned well ahead.
Fujairah faces the Gulf of Oman rather than the Arabian Gulf, with different humidity and salinity patterns, but marine exposure is marine exposure. Complete grouting matters for the same reasons it matters on the west coast.
Development through the coastal strip and the wadi areas can involve access that a standard urban delivery assumption does not cover. Worth establishing early rather than on the delivery day.
With less high-rise activity, there are fewer engineers locally who work with post-tensioning routinely. That makes clear, well-presented design documentation more important, not less.

Common questions
Yes, under our UAE-wide DED Ajman licence. It is a longer journey than our neighbouring emirates, so scheduling matters more, but it is normal scheduled work rather than a special case.
Yes, and it happens regularly. On a straightforward villa with conventional spans, reinforced concrete is often the better answer and we will say so. We would rather give you a correct answer and no job than a job built on a recommendation that did not hold up.
Large column-free living spaces, slabs over garages or undercrofts, substantial cantilevered terraces, and basement or pool structures where crack control matters for waterproofing. It is usually one element rather than the whole house.
The tendon work costs more than rebar alone, but it can reduce slab depth, concrete volume and foundation load. On a villa the saving is smaller than on a tower because there are fewer floors to multiply it across, which is exactly why the honest answer depends on the specific design rather than a general rule.
We do take on villa work. Mobilisation to the east coast for one small slab is worth planning around, so tell us your programme early and we will be straightforward about what is practical.
